**Purpose of the Job**:
The main purpose of the Buyer’s Assistant in the Red Star space is to provide comprehensive support to the buying team by capturing and managing data, processing orders and invoices, and resolving queries from vendors, suppliers, distribution centers, and the sales team. This role also involves quality checking, administrative tasks, and assisting with product selection, merchandising, and promotion for ecommerce. Additionally, the Buyer’s Assistant performs product data analysis, market research, and helps optimize the online product catalogue and promotional campaigns to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.

**Job Objectives**:
**Data Management**:

- Capture buying-related data on the system accurately and timeously.
- Quality check all information entered and captured for accuracy.

**Order and Invoice Processing**:

- Place orders and process purchase orders and invoices efficiently.
- File documents and maintain organized records of all transactions.

**Vendor and Supplier Communication**:

- Handle administrative and data queries from vendors, suppliers, distribution centers, and the sales team.

**Support for Buyers**:

- Provide secretarial support to the Buyers.
- Request supplier and promotion performance reports as needed.

**Ecommerce and Merchandising Support**:

- Assist the buying team with ecommerce tasks, including product selection, merchandising, and promotion of the online range.
- Perform product data analysis, market research, and competitor analysis to recommend merchandising solutions that align with campaign and customer experience goals.

**Digital Content Management**:

- Ensure digital channels are rich with content, enabling customers to easily discover products within the online catalogue.
- Maintain the integrity of the product catalogue, working closely with the product coordination teams.

**Promotions and Sales Optimization**:

- Collaborate with the buying and marketing teams to set up promotions that drive sales.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for both the department and the online platform.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, providing administrative support related to buying, ecommerce, or planning processes.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Exceptional administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Outstanding attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional telephone etiquette, fostering positive interactions with vendors, suppliers, and team members.
- Experience with SAP Buying/Retail systems, providing a strong foundation for managing buying processes.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Proficient in MS Office 365, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in creating detailed spreadsheets using formulas.
