**Reporting to** Head: Academic

The IIE’s **Vega School Durban campus** is seeking a part time Lecturer (Independent Contractor) for the first semester of the 2023 academic year.

**Job Purpose**:
Lecturer and academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes.

**Minimum Qualification Requirements**:
Ideal:

- In order to lecture on this module, the lecturer needs to have a minimum of a Research Masters in a cognate field of the qualification s/he will be teaching on and preferably lecturing experience in research methodology.

Alternatively:

- NQF 9 qualification that includes academic research component
- A Research Methodology module should have been successfully completed at NQF 8

**Minimum Work Experience Requirements**:
Ideal:
In order to supervise on this module, the lecturer needs to have successfully supervised and delivered at least 5 Honours students.

Alternatively:
Supervisors with at least a Masters in a cognate field without supervision experience will be allowed to supervise students under the supervision of an experienced lead supervisor.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Preparation and lecturing as per the Module Guide
- Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours and stipulated per pre agreed timetable
- Briefing students for assignments and providing feedback in a timeous manner
- Presenting class marks and feedback to the Module Discipline Leader and discuss appropriate interventions for improved student success
- Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within The IIE’ Vega School environment.

***Working Conditions**:

- Please note that this is an Independent Contractor position
- Positions are **part-time**, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:30
