**Minimum Requirements**:
**Education**:
- Essential: An advanced level university degree (Master's level) in medicine/health sciences, or life sciences **with an emphasis in health and **may be in combination with health informatics, public health, or digital health, or related health field.
- **Desirable**: A PhD in one of the above-mentioned fields.
- In addition to the above, a business qualification would be an added advantage.
Work Experience
- At least 8 - 10 years’ experience in a health technology development and/or health innovation management environment, global health projects, and health systems strengthening.
- Appropriate experience in the management of direct reporting staff.
- Knowledge of Corporate Governance and General Management Best Practice, Effective report-writing and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of technology innovation and commercialisation in the Life Sciences sector, **with emphasis in health.**:
- Ability to lead by influence, build relationships and demonstrate cross-functional skills
- Ability to successfully represent the organization to its internal and external audiences and stakeholders in a variety of settings, effectively communicating complex concepts and ideas in an engaging, simple manner.
- Must have flexibility and ability to multitask and manage several different projects while respecting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability at working in a complex multicultural team environment and partnering with peers to develop and implement against goals.
- Current knowledge of trends in sexual/reproductive health, maternal health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, digital health, pharmaceutical sciences, health biotechnology, health technology development trends, and overall global health issues.
- Knowledge of the commercialization of health technologies and a working knowledge of health markets and developments therein
- Proven success in prior health innovation focused roles
- Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and risk
- Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to develop unique partnership models that create value
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Finance**
- Prepare operational and investment budgets for the TIA Health Business Unit
- Ensure that performance against budget is managed and reported on a quarterly basis
- Manage the disbursement of funding to ensure optimal operation of technology and innovation projects and programmes
- Identify and implement appropriate resource mobilisation opportunities
- Monitor the repayment obligations of TIA investments (royalties and loans)
- Provide input into the annual budget for the Heath Business Unit in line with the PFMA
- Procure, manage and supervise third-party contractors or service providers where required
**Stakeholder Relations Plans**
- Provide guidance and support to projects and partners in all areas of the TIA health portfolio, to realize innovation lifecycle progression.
- Support the development of project strategy and design, lead specific project objectives and represent projects internally to donors, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Ensure that Stakeholder relationships are managed and implemented.
- Establish the Health Business Unit and TIA as a thought leader in health innovation in South Africa and globally.
- Participate in relevant events, meetings, workshops and conferences by giving input, availing skill, competency and expertise.

- Collaborate with global and country programs to identify, track, and assess innovative approaches to health innovation
