The institute has a job opening for a **HR Generalist **within our **HR** department. The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive HR-related support and services to employees.

**Position Duties & Responsibilities**
- Recruitment and Onboarding:_
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Conduct reference checks and background screenings.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including onboarding processes, records and employee training.
- Employee Relations:_
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances, and initiate appropriate resolutions.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide counselling and support to employees on various HR matters.
- Performance Management:_
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback.
- Support employees in conducting performance discussions with their managers and ensure compliance when implementing performance improvement plans.
- Provide training and guidance on performance management best practices.
- Provide guidance on disciplinary actions.
- HR Administration and Record Keeping:_
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Training and Development:_
- Coordinate employee training programs when needs have been identified.
- Assist in the development and delivery of HR-related training sessions.
- Support the implementation of employee development initiatives and career progression programs.
- HR Projects and Initiatives:_
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as process improvement and employee engagement programs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in employment legislation to ensure HR practices remain compliant and effective.

**Application Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent qualification related to Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role performing similar functions.
- Sound understanding of the recruitment cycle.
- Ability to withstand pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation: BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA, COIDA.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 365 in particular) and the ability to learn new technology.
- Meticulous recordkeeping skills and attention to detail.
- Above average decision-making and problem-solving skills.
