ROLE SUMMARY

The Data Integration Specialist plans, coordinates and performs activities related to integration of data and systems to build and maintain data operations that ingest, transform and provision data across various sources to address key information needs of the organisation and enhance the organisation’s efforts to assimilate data analytics into its work processes.

The Data Integration Specialist support and maintain the data warehouse solution as well as the analytics, reporting and dashboarding solution (Grafana). Design, develop and maintain data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet the business’s analysis and reporting needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Define and implement the data integration architecture to address IT and business objectives.
- Manage data integration best practices.
- Plan, execute and manage the integration of data across the data assets.
- Work with IT and business management teams to understand data needs and develop solutions.
- Develop standards, designs, data maps; developing and modifying functions, programs, routines and stored procedures to export, transform and load data.
- Developing and executing test plans and scenarios including data design, tool design, data extract/transform, networks and hardware.
- Support data architecture solutions to meet technical and business requirements.
- Assist with data warehouse initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate capture and retention and metadata management of data.
- Support all processes to transform, consolidate and analyse structured and unstructured data.
- Follow procedures to ensure the quality, completeness, security, privacy, and integrity of data throughout the data lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with POPIA and other required data policies/best practices.
- Document and maintain code using change control software.
- Write and maintain SQL code.
- Contribute to the strategy and architecture for managing the enterprise’s data.
- Provide technical support in development and execution of data extraction, transformation, and load activities.
- Write and maintain documentation of the data integration processes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, customers, and management.
- Acquire knowledge and training in data integration techniques, tools, and services to meet demands of the unit.

Education and Experience
- Relevant Qualification
- 2+ years relevant work experience
- At least 1 to 3 years of data analysis, report building experience.

Technical Skills
- Must have practical experience with SSIS, Power BI, and MS Excel.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of data modelling principals.
- Must have experience developing with Power BI.
- Highly competent, able to deliver end-to-end data solutions from raw data to dashboards.

Presentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
