**Job title - Quality Control Technician**

DSM-Firmenich are recruiting a Quality Control Technician to join their Quality team based at their food manufacturing site in Midrand, South Africa.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Perform chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, HPLC, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests
- Set up Sensory Panels
- Be an active member of the Sensory Panel
- Perform Batch release/rejection
- Perform Equipment calibration
- Support Non-conformity Investigation: customer linked analytical/ sensory profile, supplier non-conformity
- Respect health, safety, hygiene, quality and environment rules applicable on site

**You bring**
- BSc in scientific related field, such as biochemistry, chemistry, food industry OR relevant similar minimum 3 years experience in quality control, with thorough knowledge of flavours, raw materials, microbiology, sensory)
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with diverse stakeholders
- Rigorous and data-driven, able to make decision autonomously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced IT skills (MS Office suite, Lims, SAP, etc.)
- Technically proficient/ knowledgeable in the following chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, HPLC, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests
- Good knowledge in quality management system desired (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14000)
- Fluent in English
