'n Beperkte aantal posisies wat daarop gemik is om jong, Suid-Afrikaanse, akademiese personeel op te lei, is beskikbaar.

Die posbekleër sal by die eerste geleentheid na die aanvang van sy/haar verpligtinge, moet inskryf vir 'n PhD graad (deeltyds) in die Departement Meganiese en

Megatroniese Ingenieurswese (Universiteit Stellenbosch).

Die posbekleër sal tipies drie dae per week aan PhD studies spandeer en twee dae per week in die Department werk aan akademiese en/of tegniese ondersteuning.

Laasgenoemde sal nie noodwendig verband hou met die PhD navorsing nie. Die posbekleër kan 'n mentor en studieleier, in oorleg met die Departement se bestuur, uit

een van die senior dosente van die Departement kies.

Hierdie is 'n vyfjaar vastetermyn aanstelling.

Aansoekers moet hul verkose studieveld saam met hulle aansoek aandui. Slegs een aanstelling per studieveld sal gemaak word.

Die finale keuse van studieveld sal tydens die aanstellingsproses gemaak word.

A limited number of positions, aimed at training young, South African academic staff, are available. The incumbent will have to register for his/her PhD degree (part-time)

in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (Stellenbosch University) at the first available opportunity after joining the Department. The incumbent will

typically spend three days per week on PhD studies.

Two days per week will be devoted to work in the Department that can include academic and/or technical support. This departmental work will not necessarily be related

to the PhD research.

The incumbent can choose a mentor and supervisor, in consultation with the Department's management, from the senior academic staff of this Department.

This is a five-year fixed-term appointment.

Final choices will be negotiated at appointment.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- 'n ECSA geakkrediteerde BIng of BSc(Ing) graad in meganiese of megatroniese ingenieurswese, of gelykwaardig;- MIng (navorsing) graad in meganiese of megatroniese ingenieurswese, of gelykwaardig, of bewys dat die kandidaat geregistreer is vir die graad.

*** Indien die graad nog nie toegeken is nie, moet 'n kopie van die finale, ingehandigde tesis ingedien word drie dae voor die mondelinge onderhoud. Bewys van

inhandiging moet ook ingedien word;- Goeie kommunikasie
- en onderrigvaardighede;- Die vermoë om effektief in Engels onderrig te kan gee;- Goeie interpersoonlike vaardighede;- Bewese navorsingsvaardighede.An ECSA accredited BEng or BSc(Eng) degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, or equivalent;been awarded yet, a copy of the final, submitted thesis must be provided three days before the verbal interview. Proof of submission must also be provided;- Good communication and teaching skills;- The ability to effectively teach in English;- Good interpersonal skills;- Proven research skills.
