Production Planner

Someone who is used to high priced/complex production items within the manufacturing industry

**Job Experience & Skills Required**:

- Support Senior Production Planner with the preparation of the production plan.
- Schedule daily production requirements based on Production Plan.
- Verify MRP and react accordingly, looking at raw material supply and component manufacture.
- SAP Custodian (production function).
- Converting material requirement plans into production orders and close when complete.
- Liaise with production control, manufacturing, engineering, and sales function.
- Monitoring of WIP to know which jobs are almost complete or need additional inputs.
- Coordinates rework and reject production orders, subcontracts, customer returns and R&D projects.
- Facilitate logistics and manage customer deliveries.
- Manage PO1 stock take conversion factor report and stock take meetings.
- Track and replenish Customer Furnished Items (CFI).
- Check MRP variances after creation of material requisitions and report variances to manufacturing executives

**Education**:

- Grade 12.
- National Diploma/Degree in Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent will be advantageous.

**Skills**:

- 5-10 years’ production experience in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing Operations/Processes.
- Knowledge of company ERP system and other company systems
- Knowledge and understanding of product manufactured and technologies employed
- Knowledge of company systems and procedures
- Possesses a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to drive innovation and change.
- Displays a strong customer service ethic.
- Mentoring and coaching skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to ask questions and ‘deep dive’ to understand the real issue.
- Attention to detail ensuring accuracy of data presented.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Word, and SAP.
- Excellent administrative, planning and organizing skills with attention to detail.
