FIELDWORKER: SENIOR RESEARCH TECHNICIAN (S) (x2 Posts)

12-month contract

Flexible 30-hour work week

The Mental Health, Alcohol, Substance Use and Tobacco Research Unit (MAST-RU) seeks to appoint an experienced, energetic and organized individual to join the MaRISA+ project, which is a study focused on developing a technology-based behavioural intervention to address maternal alcohol use with contingent financial incentives, text-based health promotion and referrals on gender-based violence, maternal/infant health, and psychosocial issues in the context of maternal alcohol use.

The incumbent will be required to work a flexi 30 hours per week, across three study sites within the Cape-Metropole, depending on study requirements.

Core Requirements:

- Have a Grade 12/Matric
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in data capturing and administration within the research environment
- 3 years of relevant experience in conducting fieldwork for other research projects or other public health research and relevant experience in working in target communities.
- Have a valid drivers’ license and demonstrate experience driving a code B vehicle for more than a year.
- Speak fluent English and isiXhosa or Afrikaans.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of data quality control systems.
- Computer skills in Microsoft packages.

Added Advantage:

- Accredited Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification which is still active.
- Knowledge and prior experience working within Maternal and Obstetric Units at public health facilities.

A salary in the region of R175 749.60 per annum, at 30 hours per week cost-to-company.
