Green Corridors is looking to employ one or more suitably qualified persons to provide services in generating, capturing, and managing data, using a variety of tools including citizen science tools and GIS mapping, relating to our operations and intervention impacts.
- Field worker training and supervision in the use of citizen science and other tools
- Data management; and
- GIS mapping.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Generate, collect, capture, store, organize, maintain and monitor the data created and collected by Green Corridors for our strategic and project management, fundraising and public communication needs
- Training and supervising Green Corridors staff in the use of citizen science and other tools
- Use of citizen science and GIS as tools for integrated open space management, especially in the central kwaMashu area
- Providing data and GIS mapping as required for our reporting and communications needs
- Liaising with and providing administrative support for processes involving relevant municipal and other stakeholders
- Reporting to the Green Spaces Programme Manager
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree/diploma in environmental management, town and regional planning, or other relevant field;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in executing relevant responsibilities;
- Previous working experience in programs involved in data generation, collection, capture, management, and skills development, using a variety of tools including citizen science tools, and GIS mapping;
- Good communication and reporting skills;
- Driver’s License
- Good local knowledge of Durban and in particular of kwaMashu will be a significant advantage
