Manager - IT Infrastructure

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**
An Infrastructure Manager coordinates technical projects, specialises in computer network infrastructures. They are responsible for managing IT employees within the department, making sure network costs are on budget and serving as a liaison between IT staff and project stakeholders.
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage IT Infrastructure and security to maximize uptime and protection of data
- Management of IT Operations system to ensure efficiency.
- Formulating the IT technical services policies and standard operating procedures.
- Plan, direct and design the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Manage budget and IT capital requirement.
- Preparing and managing the project plans.
- Documentation and implementation testing
- Define, measure and meet key operational metrics
- Establish strategic direction for operating systems
- Partner with and influence stakeholders to promote simplification, standardization and innovation.
- Maintain logs, documentation and reports of activity.
- Management of People & Service Providers: The management of people within his/her functional responsibility in order to achieve the outcomes of the function. This includes service providers and the management of SLAs.
- Network Administration: manage the company's technology 'backbone' - its data centres and networks. Plan, design, implement and maintain server configurations, routing protocols, network configurations and storage environments to facilitate the needs of the organization. Configure server backups, monitor network use statistics and loads, and implement contingency plans to minimize network and system downtime. When deployed, they will be available for domain activities.
- IT Security: Defining, communicating and enforcing technology-related policies, standards and procedures. They are tasked with mitigating risk related to internal and external data breaches and cyber-attacks. Develop security incident management plans and ensure that all technology-related projects meet defined security requirements. Ensure that company servers and networks meet or exceed established security requirements.
- Maintain system uptime & Disaster Recovery: To ensure that systems are online and fully operational. To ensure issues don’t escalate into catastrophes by identifying risks and managing these risks and to recover from these disasters. This team will also be responsible for disaster recovery.
- Develop Strategies: work is not limited to the inner workings of the IT department. The evaluation of IT infrastructure as a component of the company as a whole. Thus, to collaborate with colleagues and department heads in order to develop strategies which will help the IT infrastructure department better align itself with the company’s overall financial and corporate strategy.
- IT Department Support: to support other IT functional heads.
- Ensuring value realization through infrastructure utilization and ensuring exploitation of current infrastructure investments
- Defining standards and usage rules for solutions within business process(es).

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science
- ITIL Certification
- Cloud Certification would be advantageous
- Project Management Certification would be advantageous
- At least 7years’ experience in a similar role.
