Pinetown, South Africa Brace Able Manufacturing Full time

**Key Responsibilities**:

- SHEQ Management System - IATF 16949/ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Ø Internal Auditing: Knowledge of internal auditing processes and practices for automotive or manufacturing environment.

Ø Conduct internal and external audits as well as risk assessments.

Ø Maintenance of SHEQ management system to ensure compliance, adherence and effectiveness of IATF 16949/ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

Ø Draft yearly audit program and ensure audits are conducted as per program.

Ø Ensure on time closure of non-conformance/s and verify effectiveness of action taken.

Ø Managing incidents and hazards at the workplace.
- Pre-shift

Ø Ensure previous shifts non-conformances have been quarantined and removed from the system.

Ø Ensure that visual management boards allocated to Quality Control are updated and in good condition.

Ø Allocate resources and ensure safety requirements are being met by inspectors.
- Shift activities

Ø Shop floor patrol to ensure:
Ø First offs are available on machine.

Ø Patrol inspection sheets are available, and frequency of inspection is being met.

Ø Ensure last offs are available for all jobs that have been completed.

Ø All dunnage is correct as per WI and properly identified.

Ø Sign off patrol inspection sheets.

Ø Ensure correct PPE is being worn and good housekeeping practices are taking place.

Ø Ensure basic quality standards/ practices are being followed.
- Training and Development

Ø Train new inspectors, develop and update Skills matrix.

Ø Multiskilling existing inspectors.

Ø Ensure OJT requirement for training needs analysis is met for each inspector and trainee.
- Control of non-conforming parts

Ø Ensure all non-conforming parts are identified with hold labels and moved to quarantine area throughout the shift.

Ø Ensure that all non-conforming parts are being stored in the correct bin prior to the daily scrap meeting with QC Manager.

Ø Ensure that all rework taking place by production is controlled through part identification, rework procedure and WI and good and no good samples.

Ø Meet with QC Manager and relevant department inspectors daily to determine which parts need to be scrapped or reworked.

Ø Ensure non-conforming parts are included in scrap register for each department and update the relevant board.
- Supervising responsibilities

Ø Enforce the company rules and adhere to the IR procedure to deal with misconduct.

Ø Understand and enforce the policies and procedures in the company relevant to your department.

Ø Understand and implement the company QMES requirements.

Ø Ensure visual management boards in the department are updated regularly for scrap and SDR.

Ø Follow the escalation procedure to the QC Manager.

Ø Provide regular daily updates on shift problems to the QC Manager at the set times.

Ø Ensure all CAR, PFUS and improvement activities allocated to you, or your subordinates are completed on time.

Ø Submit O/T approval document to QC Manager as required.

Ø Address subordinate’s payroll queries with HR department.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12.
- Diploma/ Degree in engineering.
- Diploma/ Degree in Quality or Operations Management.
- Quality Core Tools (PFMEA/ MSA/ PPAP/ SPC/ APQP&CP).
- 3 years’ experience: Quality or Process Engineering in automotive.
- 3 years’ experience: high-volume manufacturing environment preferably automotive quality control.
- QC Team Leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Excel - intermediate.
- Microsoft Outlook - basic.
- Microsoft Word - intermediate.
- Microsoft PowerPoint - basic.
- Knowledge of components.
- Knowledge and understanding production equipment and processes.
- Interpretation and understanding of technical drawing.
- Knowledge of G8D/ problem solving principle.
- Analytical and reporting skills.
