Our client in Mozambique in the waste management industry is looking for a Deport Manager.

**Responsibilities**:
**Operations**:

- Lead multiple high-profile projects simultaneously, making decisions and implementing process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulations for transported products/waste.
- Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
- Manage relationships with internal and external vendors to enhance customer experience and drive efficiency.
- Align activities with client requirements and encourage new business development.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
- Analyze and optimize corporate logistics for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Conduct environmental audits and implement environmental management systems.

**Health and Safety**:

- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance among employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Investigate work accidents and occupational illnesses, implementing preventive measures.
- Identify hazards and aspects in operational areas, ensuring the implementation of Safe Work Procedures.
- Coordinate training on Safe Work Procedures and communicate SHE requirements with suppliers and contractors.
- Implement controls for legal compliance and manage corrective/preventive actions for audit non-compliance.

**Financial Management**:

- Maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards.
- Compile, forecast, and control annual budgets for Distribution Centre and Logistics Services.
- Implement financial controls to manage overheads, cash flow, and ensure profitability.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to Head Office on operational effectiveness and variances.

**Personnel Management**:

- Ensure employees have required training, induction, and medicals.
- Verify wage input and ensure compliance with personnel procedures.

**Fleet Management**:

- Manage daily vehicle business operations, ensuring efficiency and responsibility.
- Schedule new vehicle routes, optimize vehicle management patterns, and promote efficiency.

**Communication and Feedback**:

- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Communicate effectively with superiors on relevant aspects.
- Handle personnel matters such as incidents, complaints, staffing requests, and terminations.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of legislative and local regulations for waste treatment and disposal.
- Strong attention to detail and conflict resolution skills.
- Sound knowledge of oil and gas practices, especially related to environmental and waste management.
- Familiarity with computer operations and waste treatment plant software.
- Understanding of hazardous chemical handling and usage.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental Laws.
- National Diploma in Logistics or equivalent, Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Waste Management, Engineering, Environmental, Construction, or similar.
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, 2-3 years' experience in the waste environment.
- Valid driver's license.
