WATER AND SANITATION WS 164/23 Principal Pump Station Operator

**Requirements**:

- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- At least 5 years proven experience within pump-station

environment
- A valid Code EB(8) Driver’s License
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able bodied

Key Performance Areas
- Performs tasks/activities associated with the operation of

water/sewerage pump stations within Reticulation.
- Investigating any abnormal pump station conditions and if

possible take appropriate action to rectify.
- Monitor and report on performance of pumps and

do security checks.
- Issuing of permits to relevant role players to access

pump-station sites in order to ensure activities are executed

in accordance with laid down instructions, guidelines and

that general and specific safety procedures are complied with.
- Transporting personnel, material to/ from specific locations.
- Supervising and assist subordinates in the cleaning of wet

wells and removal of sand, debris and fat build up from sumps
- Completing all relevant documentation as required by the

Employer in order to comply with laid down procedures

and policies
