**Responsibilities**
- Develop a database of prospective clients.
- Identifying and properly qualifying business opportunities.
- Direct contact of prospective clients through personal visits and phone calls.
- Provide customer quotations with a systematic follow-up system.
- Prepare daily sales report and quarterly business plan.
- Extensive market & industry research to identify new opportunities.
- Responsible for securing new customers and maintaining and developing existing accounts.
- Meet and exceed target set in terms of contributing and generating revenue for the department.
- Maintain records of customer details/sales visits.
- Identify potential customers and register opportunities.
- Regularly visit existing accounts validating our service levels and develop new revenue streams.
- Negotiate with the accounts as per price guidelines given, looking to maximize profits.
- Follow up on customer communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Support customer service/pricing and work closely with operations and documentation on the execution of customer service contracts.
- Promote the services and products of all entities, and coordinate sales efforts with other department sales.
- Assimilate market information and take part in the overall business development through weekly/monthly sales meetings.
- Follow up with clients for outstanding supported by the Finance Controller.
- Follow up of quotations as needed and communicate the positive or negative feedback in respect of being able to source the competitive rate to support the closure of all business opportunities.
- Use the quote feedback to quote more effectively for future opportunities and for pricing guidance.
- Conduct research and route planning, taking into consideration the kind of cargo being transported, the distance involved and any specific customer requirements concerning the final delivery time.
- Negotiate internally to provide best rates for import and export.
- Take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability and take lead/responsibility to support business.
- Ensuring integrity & accuracy in all pricing matters.
- Establish & maintain a strong working relationship with customers.
- Coordination with pricing and operations team.
- Accuracy of all quotes, and timely issue to the customer.
- New customers leading to new business.
- Ensure enough commercial visits have been done to generate business.
- CRM pipeline reporting.
- Ensure quality of operations and customer satisfaction.

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum 5 years freight forwarding sales experience.
- Matric.
- Own reliable transport.
- Proven broad commercial and operational experience in the sector.
- A good understanding of transportation industry and in particular, international air & ocean freight shipping specifics.
- Possess continuous drive to (further) develop sales activities.
- Highly motivated by challenges, negotiation skills, and ability to close deals will be essential in achieving goals.
- Knowledge of tender process and management industry.
- Possession of a car and valid driver's license.
- Full knowledge of the shipping & logistics market.
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Time management.
- Self-managing and proactive.
