**MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR**

Our client based in Parow Industrial is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to perform the following:
**Requirements**:

- Qualified machine shop machinist with 5+ years’ experience in machining Supervisory experience 3+ years
- Must be able to operate a manual radial arm drill
- Must be able to operate a manual horizontal boring mill
- Must be able to operate and program CNC milling machines (Fanuc controls). This is all online programming, not CAM programming.
- Must be proficient using measurement tools (Verniers, micrometres, inside micrometres, height gauges, etc.).
- Must have a good understanding of materials and suitable cutting speeds and feeds for various operations.
- Experience in machining High-Chrome is beneficial
- Experience marking out and machining castings is highly beneficial
- Co-ordinate all the activities in the machine shop
- Set and operate various machines
- Generate CNC programs (inline, IOW no CAM systems)
- You must also monitor the activities in the store and QC measurement department.
- Setting up of tools and fixtures for machining

**It is essential that you are able to work on the following machines**:

- 2 x Vertical Lathes with Fanuc Control (CNC)
- 1 x Horizontal borer with Fanuc Control (CNC)
- 1 x Radial arm drill (conventional.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain all equipment in good working order
- Plan work loading of all machines
- Optimise machine run time
- Identify and develop new jig and fixture requirements
- Ensure consumables and tool stocks are maintained
- Setup machine with tools, jigs / fixtures and programs
- Run first off and ensure that all dimensions are within specification before batch runs Support operators on machines if problems occur Change inserts and reset tool offsets when tools wear out Ensure that daily / weekly / monthly machine and plant maintenance checks are performed
- Monitor, and correct if necessary, time keeping and productivity of all operators and staff
- Responsible for disciplinary management of all staff
- Liaise with Toolroom suppliers regarding supply of tools and consumables Responsible for storage and maintenance of all CNC programs

**Salary**: R50,000.00 - R60,000.00 per month

**Experience**:

- machining: 5 years (preferred)
- machine shop supervisory: 3 years (preferred)
