**_ Main purpose of role_**
- Working within a dedicated team to provide an Import and Export Airfreight service to a client within the mining vertical, keeping the customer up to date on the movement of their cargo at all times._

**_Job related duties & requirements._**
- General understanding of the industry and related job requirements for freight forwarding. _
- Liaising and pro-actively communicating with clients throughout the process._
- Ability to escalate where required to the relevant parties and maintaining a good working relationship with all various teams and departments._
- _Pro-actively communicating and resolving queries or delays for clients._
- _Managing clients KPIs / performance on a monthly basis and productivity of own desk_
- _Making special arrangements / involving the right level of individual to support on critical shipments. _
- _Support in after hour monitoring and tracking and tracing with carriers, arranging specials on weekends or facilitating communication and feedback on weekends. _
- _Resolving client and routine queries professionally and timorously_
- _Managing costs effectively and carefully._
- _Invoicing out shipment timeously and correctly. _
- _Tracking shipments from collection to collection and arrival._
- _Overtime when applicable _
- _Manage Negative WIPS/ open accruals / open negative accruals._
- _Excellent administrative skills_
- _Admin work will be applicable_
- _Able to work without constant supervision_
- _Able to work under pressure_ _
- _Completion of relevant shipping documents as prescribed by local _& _International authorities_
- _Ensure company performance objectives are achieved_
- _Co-ordinate the movement of cargo on behalf of clients_
- _Follow operational systems and procedures_
- _Develop and maintain working relationships, networks and partnerships_ _that help achieve business goals_
- _Control expenses by actively monitoring waste within your control._
- _Ensure best control of costs and transit at all times on all routes_
- _Problem solving skills: must be able to work with other colleagues,_ _departments, 3rd party suppliers and clients in a proactive and professional manner._
- _Provide positive solutions to all problematic situations_
- _Find innovative ways of reducing errors and omissions_
- _Understand and exceed client's expectations and requirements_
- _Provide innovative, effective solutions to client's needs_
- _Ability to foresee problems arising and provide alternatives and solutions proactively_
- _Accountable for timeous resolution of outstanding debtors queries,foreign debtors queries, creditors reconciliation queries and foreign_ _account queries under your control._
- _Accountable for on time billing to clients_
- _Team player: provide full support to the team and manager_

**_Electives_**
- Good communication skills, both verbally and written._
- Understanding of profit and loss revenue or losses on shipment basis._
- Ownership and self-motivation, to ensure any challenge is addressed immediately and resolved as soon as possible._
- Having an all-round understanding of the airfreight function to ensure solutions can be provided to the client._
- _Min 1 year experience in freight forwarding._
- _Minimum 3 years in the industry_
- _Must have knowledge of import & Export air process_
- _Person must be organized and be able to manage a desk_
- _Self-Motivated and deadline driven_
- _Able to work under pressure when required._
- _Communicate effectively with local colleagues and clients._
- _Team player with positive attitude_
- _Process Driven_

**_Minimum requirements_**
- Own reliable transport_
- Ability to work late and be available on weekends when required. _
- Ability to walk down several stairs._
- Grade 12_
- Ability to travel where required if required._

**_Tertiary Qualification_**
- Matric_
- Qualification in Logistics an added advantage_

**_Computer packages_**_ _
- Cargowise understanding and previous experience would be beneficial._
- Excel / Word intermediate knowledge_
- Strong Outlook understanding and competency_
