EMEA Marketing - Johannesburg Consumer Direct Marketing Marketplace Manager
Based in Johannesburg, you will be part of the Johannesburg city marketing team. This team will be accountable for:
- Humanising our brand through relationships on the ground with key communities, athletes, and athletes* that move our world forward through movement
- Envisaging the future of the marketplace and how we serve athletes (and members) through it.
- Engaging members with focus on activity (movement), connections (relationships), and purpose - optimising key membership KPIs and bringing the magic of Nike to life on the ground for the members who love us the most
- Owning targeted brand extensions that feed off specific city insights
- Fuelling our global engine with sharp, relevant insights that can scale
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an experienced and talented marketeer with a passion for movement, a curiosity for our young consumer, and an unrelenting desire to build deeper relationships with them. A marketeer with prior retail and digital marketing experience, and a marketeer keen to strive for better ways to engage with our members through testing, learning & iterating. And of course, a marketeer willing to adapt on the fly, all while maintaining a positive growth mindset.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As Johannesburg Consumer Direct Marketing Manager Marketplace you will be part of the Johannesburg City Marketing team, reporting directly to the Johannesburg Marketing Director. You will be responsible to for leading the direction on how we best connect with consumers in our city marketplace, with a sharp focus on Nike channels. In this role core duties will include:
- Owning how our Nike fleet comes to life visually for our consumers through seasonal executions in-store
- Driving our O2O strategy, acquiring and retaining members through in-store experiences
- Create and execute the holistic and integrated Nike Marketing strategy and partnership plan for Marketplace Partner TFG, as part of the overall MPU strategy - with a sharp focus on digital prioritization.
- Obsessing the consumer & member journey through store and supporting the development of a 365 services strategy to activate in Nike Stores and Marketplace Partner TFG
- Develop deep relationships with the EMEA ND Stores team, EMEA and SA Key Lifestyle Partners MPU team, the TFG marketing and buying teams to continue to understand the business, create opportunities and drive a collective vision
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
In this role you will work fluidly across the full city marketing team, working with cross-functional marketing partners to bring your vision to life for our members in the city and the TFG consumer. You will work closely with the Retail function, at city and EMEA level, and you will also work closely with the EMEA Consumer Direct Marketing team to stay abreast of latest strategies and help share best practices.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE?
Essential requirements:
- Extensive experience in marketing (ideally a minimum of 7 years), with a strong focus on retail and digital marketing
- Prior experience in integrated retail marketing
- A demonstrable understanding of the Johannesburg consumer, the city and Nike’s position within it, with a track record of making strategic marketing decisions within this environment.
- Prior retail marketing experience in South Africa
- A proven track record of analysing large sets of data to build out a structured set of insights that can drive creative / brand strategy
- A desire & willingness to adapt
