**Role Purpose/Business Unit**:

With our customers at the heart of our purpose, you will be part of the evolution of our IT technology landscape, harnessing the latest technical innovations available.The role of a Principal Specialist Digital Transformation is to execute on the digital strategy defined by Vodacom SA leadership, by turning the strategy into action, through the implementation of relevant technical solutions, and ensuring continuous value delivery from the technology investments.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- **Digital transformation implementation and control **- define the execution strategy, including the commercial and technology teams which will execute the various steps in the process. Control the implementation of the transformation to ensure that the timelines committed are met.
- ** Incubate and ramp-up operations** - Design, co-create with the operational delivery teams, the various operational processes that need to be implemented, related to the digital transformation, with both the commercial and technology teams.
- ** Optimise the commercial use of the commissioned technology stack** - Ensure that all customer and/or commercial journeys / processes are documented and designed to work optimally on the new technology stack, while keeping the technology stack as “out of the box” as possible. This includes managing the key commercial stakeholder requirements and business processes.
- Transformation Strategy formulation - Structure the 5-year transformation strategy and associated roadmaps, across all technical domains, ensuring that all dimensions are pertaining to governance, people, technology, and processes are considered and included. “Decipher the ambition” of the transformation for the technical and commercial teams, to ensure that the desired outcomes are delivered.
- ** Governance & compliance** - Ensure that technical solutions are compliant to all documented Vodacom policies, with specific focus on Cyber Security and business continuity, on a day-to-day basis. Ensure that the transformations are executed in accordance with the adopted Vodacom standards (e.g., AGILE, ISO).
- ** Digital transformation command centre** - Portfolio planning, digital governance, resource and transition planning, key success factors definition and tracking, commercial value tracking.
- Matric is essential.
- 3yr Degree / Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering (or similar/relevant tertiary qualification)
- 8+ years management experience, in a large-scale technical delivery domain, preferably in software development in digital eco-systems (channels, robotics) and analytical environments (cloud analytics, Big Data, Enterprise Data Warehousing).
- Considerable experience in Digital technical architecture, operation, and delivery.
- Detailed knowledge of digital eco-systems, analytics, robotics, and design methodologies.
- Detailed knowledge of modern and relevant software engineering techniques
- Detailed knowledge of cloud-based platform engineering and design architectures and toolsets, across the full scope of the digital and analytical eco-systems.

- Knowledge of large-scale program management methodologies, coupled with a detailed understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- People leadership and management of technical teams, working in accordance with DevSecOps practices, aligned with robust Vodacom operational methodologies.
- Management of large-scale complex Technology Transformations, from on-premise to public cloud-based technologies, digital enablement and analytical systems modernisation and full alignment to the Vodacom cyber security baseline and super controls.
- Knowledge and proven implementation of Digital Transformation, across technology domains, as defined in the VODA. Experience in stakeholder management and program governance associated with wide scale technology transformation.
- Knowledge and proven implementation of SAFE software development delivery practises.
- Understanding of Technical Operations, in a large-scale on-premises and cloud-based data and analytics technical environment. This includes alignment of operations to DevSecOps principles and AI Driven operations.
