One to One Africa is the South African-registered non-profit organization that works to
transform the lives of families, especially children, women, and young people affected by
poverty and chronic illness, including HIV. One to One Africa seeks to address core gaps in
healthcare, education and psychosocial support in neglected and under-served communities
to ensure that families survive and thrive.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a project focused on training
Community Health Workers (CHWs) in the Eastern Cape province. The Project Manager will
be responsible for overseeing the training and development of Outreach Team Leaders,
Health Promoters, and CHWs. This role involves managing and coordinaNng the
implementaNon and evaluaNon of training programs that equip CHWs with the necessary
skills to provide high-quality maternal and child health, as well as Early Childhood
Development care, to communiNes. The Project Manager will ensure that all training aligns
with current healthcare standards and best pracNces while fostering a collaboraNve learning
environment.
Key Responsibili/es:
- Oversee the planning, implementaNon, and evaluaNon of the Community Health
Worker training project.
- Support the coordinaNon of training and project implementaNon logisNcs.
- Manage relaNonships with key stakeholders, including the Department of Health,
community leaders, and partner organizaNons.
- Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure trainings meet community needs and
project objecNves.
- Ensure project goals are met within the set Nmelines and budget.
- Work closely with senior management and stakeholders to align training curriculum
is aligned to naNonal standards and policies.
- Support the training team and ensure curriculum is aligned to naNonal standards and
policies.
- Stay informed about new developments in community health and incorporate them
into training as needed.
- Lead the project team, providing guidance, support, and professional development
opportuniNes.
- Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring compliance with donor
requirements and organizaNonal policies.
- Monitor and evaluate program acNviNes, using data to inform decision-making and
improve program outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management, donors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifica/ons & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences or a related field
(Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management within the non-profit
sector.
- Proven track record of managing health or development programs in rural or lowresource
seWngs as well as and understanding different community structures.
- Experience working in the maternal and child health field.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluaNon of programs.
**Skills**:
- Strong understanding of community health issues and the role of CHWs in healthcare
delivery.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communicaNon, negoNaNon, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage mulNple tasks simultaneously.
- A valid driver’s license

- Willingness to travel to different project sites.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to accommodate
training schedules.
- Familiarity with digital learning pla]orms and tools is an advantage.
