**Function**

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join our HR team reporting to the Director of Human Resources.

You will be involved with many different departments of the business, have conflicting priorities and excellent organisation and diplomacy skills. You must be comfortable working in a constantly moving and changing environment. Your role as an HR Officer will be far from one-dimensional; you will be switched on, hardworking and ambitious. You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, accurate administration, adherence to HR processes and practices and perform HR related duties as required, whilst maintaining confidentiality as well as quality and standards of the Westin Cape Town Hotel in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures within a pressurized environment**.**

**Required Experience & Qualifications**
- Degree/diploma qualification in Human Resources
- At least 2 years of related practical experience, exposure to broad aspects of Human Resources within a HR environment
- Experience within a hotel HR environment advantageous
- Excellent planning, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Confidentiality, tact and discretion essential when dealing with people.
- Ability to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurized environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Professional disposition
- Excellent problem solving, planning and organizing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Able to deal effectively with all levels of staff including senior management
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills with a desire to follow procedures
- Ability to use Initiative and be proactive

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist and support the HR team as required
- Support the day to day operations as required
- Facilitate the recruitment process from start to end
- Assist and guide line managers with IR related matters and related administration
- Co-ordinate and assist with disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Collaborative and represents the HR function professionally at all times
- Approaches matters calmly and objectively
- Assist HRM with adhoc tasks
- Assist within the Learning & Development scope of HR as required
- Ensure employee files are aligned to BCEA requirements
- Facilitate onboard or induction orientation as required
- Assist with the updating and maintenance of company policies and procedures as required
- Assist with monthly HR reporting as required
- Assist with accurate record keeping of HR information and statistics (i.e. staff turnover, employment equity, skills development and training
- Updating and maintenance of company systems and policies and other administration activities (i.e. job profiles, contracts and letters to employees)
- Assist with Employee Wellness Initiatives
- Assist with employee culture and appreciation initiatives
- Coordinate on-boarding activities for new hires
- Ensure Job Descriptions are updated and maintained
- Maintain and validate all personnel records in HR Systems (mHUB)
- Assist with HR Audits.
- Responsible to create, maintain HR related filing
- Administer employee files
- Assist with HR related projects as required
- Coordinate staff transport submissions and invoice reconciliation when required
- Assist and support HR processes and practises
- Coordinate and maintain stock and stationery levels
- Assist with Learning and Development and Employment Equity related functions and initiatives as and when required
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to
- Handle sensitive issues with employees with tact, respect, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Actively listen to and consider the concerns of other employees, responding appropriately and effectively
- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
- Perform other HR duties as may be required and assigned from time to time, etc.
