Sales Person

**PURPOSE**:The purpose of this job is to assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for the customer and in a manner that the Sales person is appreciated by the customer when he/she purchases any product. This will include the ability to provide a service which results in generation of sales and to promote the business which creates sustainable growth.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Sales-Person’s primarily identifies the needs of a customer and provides those needs through the purchase of products or services.
- Follow up on orders/special order.
- Make sure that the department is kept clean, neat and safe
- Make sure customers are being attended at the counter and aisle
- Assist in the department with various tasks when required
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- Manage to complete tasks given successfully and unassisted.
- Manage to work unsupervised.
- Make sure that standard operating procedures in department are adhered to under pressure, i.e. handling customer complaints
- Submission of weekly and monthly reports to superior
- Ensure availability and working condition of all equipment for the department, i.e. trolleys
- Implement company returns policy, i.e. returned stock to be allocated to an area with CFC note attached
- Propose new products to the department and see to special orders and follow ups

**REQUIRMENTS**:

- MUST have a Matric or an Equivalent NQF 4 certification
- MUST have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a Hardware Environment
- Must have been exposed to 3 years of Building Product Sales
- MUST have adequate Building Product knowledge (have to achieve 80% in separate tests)
- Have basic Building material Supplier Competency certificates
- Have proven Leadership, Planning, Time management & Organising Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Extensive knowledge in Stock counting and stock control
