**Project Accounting Manager**

The above position is vacant at Specialised Services Division, reporting to the Regional Executive.

The project accounting manager play a key role in the Finance Department and will partner with the senior finance manager to help drive process improvements within the billing team (upgraded billing system, project level detail, streamlined processing, etc.), own the end-to-end billing process, revenue recognition, business support model, and systematic solution.

**Key Performance Areas**: (Not totally inclusive)
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a detail project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
- Advise project planners and managers to ensure effective business outcomes.
- Ensuring alignment between cost management system and SAP.
- Implement new knowledge / information.
- Use expertise to introduce systems, which enhances the effectiveness of the position / team / project.
- Assist with tender submissions

In summary the project accounting manager will be accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.

**Additional Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Direct support to the Executive and Financial Manager.
- Assisting managers with client increase schedules and ensuring increases are processed timeously.
- Financial support to the following contracts: CCBSA, ABInBev, Nestle, Thrifty’s, Liquor Runners, SAPO and NSU.
- Assurance function to the tender department as and when required.
- Finance function - (SAPO, NSU, Umlindi, Specialize Services) - Inter-company billing, revenue, costs, journals, payments, MOS reports, budgets, credit control and month-end
- Assist the Group with costings, quotes and forecasts. Reviewing costings, quotes and forecasts.

**Skills required**:

- Relevant Financial Qualification, with 3 - 5 years’ experience
- Experience in the security or service related industry would be an advantage
- Project Management experience
- Billing Experience
- Ability to work weekends and travel
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
- Strong administration and organizational skills
- Numerical accuracy and high methodical working methods are required
- Strong planning, leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
- Computer literacy and knowledge of SAP is a requirement
