A artisan bakery based in Blackheath is looking for an experienced and confident Food Safety Quality Manager with a proven track record.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The design and periodic review of an appropriate product quality and food safety program.
- Managing the safety, legality and quality of all products produced.
- Ensuring full implementation of the product quality and food safety programs including ensuring that the program is communicated, training of employees and promotion of the program amongst management and staff.
- Maintenance and safekeeping of all product and process specifications for the company’s products as well as the preparation, maintenance and safekeeping of raw material and packaging specifications.
- Maintenance of statutory, public and private certifications for the site.
- Management of the new product development process end to end through a detailed CPA.
- Assist in generating new recipe ideas and upgrades on current recipes
- Ensure that products are produced safely, legally and of a high standard of quality.
- Conducting regular internal audits and compliance testing.
- Ensuring that appropriate records are kept and maintained at the departmental level.
- Approval of new raw materials
- Completing and maintenance of product specifications
- Sign off label information in accordance with legislation
- Management of customer complaints
- Reporting to management on quality-related matters
- Liaison with customer technical representatives from corporate clients.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA management
- Working knowledge and understanding of the legislation and requirements having an impact on the area of responsibility (GMP, HACCP, internal auditing, PRPs etc.)
- Knowledge of FSSC 22000 and implementation thereof.
- Implementing and maintaining HACCP studies and reviews.
- Tertiary degree/diploma in Food Science / Food Technology
- Supplementary training in Food Safety systems and HACCP techniques and New Product Development.
