A 5* Hotel based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced F&B Manager. Strategically oversee the Human Resources and operational aspects of the Food and Beverage department to ensure the utmost satisfaction of the guests, team members, stakeholders, and brand, alongside delivering superior service.

The position is responsible for short
- and long-term planning and the management of Food & Beverage operations both front and back of house. Develops and recommends the budget, marketing plans, and objectives, managing within those approved plans. Key areas of responsibility include the Kitchen, Restaurants, In-Room Dining, Outlets, and Lounge.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses, maximising profitability related to the food and beverage department.
- Contribute to the profitability and guest satisfaction of other hotel departments.
- Implement and maintain local and national sales/marketing programs.
- Develop short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the food and beverage department, supporting the overall objectives of the hotel.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual hotel budget.
- Increase guest satisfaction by improving the product through colleague development, job engineering, and quality image.
- Manage in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
- Maintain procedures for the security of monies, credit control, handling of financial transactions, and inventory control.
- Address department-related guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Manage Human Resources within the division: direct and oversee recruitment and development of employees; hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve conflicts through a fair treatment policy, discipline, and terminate as appropriate.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the division’s annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts, and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and LSOPs, including safety and sanitary regulations, all federal, state, and local regulations to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality.
- Market the Food and Beverage outlets; develop and manage the implementation of menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations, and presentations within corporate guidelines to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market, meeting/exceeding sales and financial goals and objectives.
- Manage the maintenance/sanitation of the Food and Beverage areas and equipment in the hotel to protect assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
- Resolve customer complaints to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements:

- A three-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Four to five years of employment in a related position within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Food & Beverage/Hospitality profession, including management of people, complex problems, and food and beverage management.
- Ability to study, analyse, and interpret complex activities.
- Highly developed communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy is a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

**Salary**: R50 000,00 - R55 000,00 per month
