Abagold has an exciting vacancy of an Researcher Assistant in the Research Department.

The Researcher Assistant will undertake the effective maintenance and assistance in the production of multidisciplinary and multi-agency Research, Innovation, and other scientifically technical projects as well as quality systems maintenance in operations for Abagold. The Assistant Researcher will also assist in the maintenance of multidisciplinary and multi-agency long-term monitoring programmes.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**1) Research scientifical, Technical and Innovative projects**
- Effective maintenance and assistance in the production of multidisciplinary and multi
- agency Research, Innovation, and quality systems maintenance in operations
- Collaborating with team members to develop cohesive and appropriate experimental design, analyse large quantities of data while multitasking across various projects
- Drafting Research reports

**2) Monitoring Programmes**
- Assist in maintaining protocol to mitigate risk and maintain legislated & best practice requirements pertaining to food safety, biosecurity and animal health and welfare guidelines

**3) Quality Systems**
- adherence of Abagold Limited on legislation, rights and regulations and market access and sustainability relevant system management.
- Including but not limited to; DFFE Permits, Coastal Water's Discharge Permit, Abagold's Right to Engage in Aquaculture, Friend of the Sea certification and other relevant accreditation or certification

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND RELATED EXPERIENCE**:

- Matric or certificate equivalent to Grade 12.
- Completed qualification Degree in Ecology, Marine Biology, Ichthyology, Fisheries Science, Quality Management, Food Science, Agriculture, Animal Production,

Logistics or any related field
- Some experience in food-safety, agriculture, quality management, quality assurance, applied research, development and innovation in industry or Academia related to Abagold nature of industry is beneficial.
- Relevant Professional Registration will be an advantage
- Programming and statistics software skills will be an advantage
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
