**ROLE**:Senior Travel Consultant
**LOCATION**:Stellenbosch
**SALARY**:R 20 425,00 per month with benefits

Key responsibilities and requirements:
Our client, a UK based tour operator, travel management and event management company, provides unique travel products and experiences globally. For the past 10 years they have organised both business and leisure travel, working in both the mid-to-luxury and great-value
- for-money markets. Their focus is on creating unique experiences and itineraries, and on offering excellent customer service and expertise to all their clients.

Their client base includes:

- 50% corporate / 50% leisure
- 50% of their market is very high end luxury, and the balance are a mix but mostly around mid-range and the occasional budget trip.

**Experience required**:

- Experience working as a travel agent doing corporate and leisure travel.
- Most important requirement are excellent experience and knowledge with working on Galileo GDS (original raw Galileo) and excellent geographic knowledge of routings, airlines and alliances.
- Know your way around the airline booking systems and industries, airports, logistics with indirect flight transfers.
- Attention to detail and pre-empting anything that can go wrong.
- Be able to source best flights and prices through Galileo GDS and supplier systems, create best routings and use initiative and experience to meet client’s budget and needs.
- Be able to do intricate routings when required and find the best deals using knowledge gained by experience and continual research. They do some round the world trips as well.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Doing quotes, custom travel itineraries and travel bookings.
- Comparing offers on the internet and gaining knowledge of what the client has access to on Skyscanner / Expedia and other.
- Well-travelled, as we believe this is what gives a better understanding of the products and travellers needs
- Project management of trips being allocated from beginning to end and working as part of the team to attain goals. Being willing to offer to help where required.
- Experience on how to research good hotels / holidays / destinations to suit target markets/clients, without just going onto the system and picking any that they think may work.
- Experience of offering clients anything else in addition to flights, e.g. hotels, car rental, transfers, airport lounges, airport parking, excursions, tickets, rail, experience. Knowing enough about where to look or find products to suit certain clients.
- Experience with planning the logistics of entire trips efficiently.

**Skill Requirements**:

- Be IT literate and able to learn quickly and work on new systems very easily. With the knowledge of the industry and flexibility to pick up technology easily, it will be easy to train on new systems being implemented within the organisation.
- Service orientated, conscientious, attention to detail. Ability, passion and patience in providing excellent client services. The focus is on the service and providing everything extra clients would not get if they booked directly online. Patience and passion and determination to sort out any issues. Extra services include entering APIS details into airlines, checking visas, health requirements, passport expiry, check in’s, monitoring, changes (voluntary and airline changes).
- Flexible with working with different personalities within the organisation, in the physical place of work, clients and suppliers and maintaining excellent working relationships.
- Ability to communicate at all levels (written and spoken), with good common sense. It is a specific requirement to ensure all communications are always accurate and timeous. Excellent command of the English language is very important. Accuracy of clients details are vital and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to build good relationships with new and existing clients and suppliers if communicating with them, at all times.
- Enquiring and creative mind, always looking at ways to improve service, efficiency, creativity and productivity
- Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets, Word and

Outlook)
- Be able to work fast and accurately under pressure.
- Efficient in creating perfect documentation and itineraries for clients
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as be self-motivated
- Excellent work ethos, diligent and dedicated.
- Excellent knowledge of travel industry.
- Understanding of travel back office and front office processes.
- Be able to assist with, and understand the importance of, quality control
