Venetia Mine is South Africa’s most valuable diamond mine. As we develop the mine underground, it is also one of the largest infrastructure projects in the country. Venetia Underground Project (VUP) is a complexed underground mechanised development, shaft and mine construction project to deliver an operational Sub Level Cave mine operation. Experienced and effective management and control of the project works and mining operations through major contractors (EPC, Mining Contractor) and owner functions is essential for Safe, timely and effective delivery of the project.

**Job Description**:

- The Planner is jointly responsible for establishing and embedding the sites Pro-active Maintenance Program on equipment, being primarily responsible to specify the requirements for completing approved work and ensuring that the program is revised routinely and is effective in its outputs and results. It is imperative that this role has the technical capability to plan in a peer partnership with the Foreman.
- Develop and use standard job templates to improve the efficiency of the planning process.
- Support the Work Management process by ensuring that all required resources for Approved Work are specified on the Work Order
- Execute the “Plan Work” element of Work Management in the Operating Model and the Asset Management Framework.
- Comply with quality specifications and authority levels set out in the documentation.
- Review the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis: To assist in prioritizing the planning work/ To track upcoming work
- Plan approved work orders (within area of responsibility) for resource provisioning and execution prior to the Required Date.
- Encourage contribution of planning details from those expected to do the work.
- Incorporate crew input into planning packages.
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders for completion by their Required Date.
- Plan work to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the Required Date for work completion.
- Plan work to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the Required Date for work completion.
- At sections without Schedulers, execute the “Schedule Work” element of the Operating Model
- Schedule approved work orders for execution at a scheduled date prior to the Required Date
- Work collaterally across operational functions (e.g. Engineering, Production), to ensure the proper communication of timing and impact of scheduled work
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful procurement of resources allowing the scheduling of work orders for completion by their Required Date
- Escalate to appropriate authority in the event that scheduling tasks by the Required Date results in a requirement for additional downtime and/or resources
- Schedule tasks to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the Required Date for work completion
- Comply with applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
- Exhibit effective Team Membership behaviors.
- Create reservations and purchase requests for planning work packages
- Monitoring Manufacturer / Supplier Warranties on equipment, parts and services
- Providing accurate Costs Estimates on Jobs
- Qualifications
- Grade12/N3 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification with pure Mathematics and Physical Science
- Qualified Artisan post trade with a minimum of 3 years working experience in a maintenance environment
- Valid EB/Code 08 Drivers License
- Advanced Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Minimum 3 Years’ experience on Underground Infrastructure environment will be advantageous
- Experienced Planner in a Mining/Plant Environment will be advantageous.
- Advanced SAP PM experience will be advantageous
- Operating model - detailed training in Work Management will be advantages
- Supervisor experience will be advantageous
- NQF5 Anglo Planner Qualification will be advantageous

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, call-outs, and work overtime as per the role requirements
- Successfully obtain a Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground
- The post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric assessments and a clear security clearance
