**Purpose of the Role;**

The role is there to support /managing of daily cleaning services of the responsible areas in line with Health, Safety & Environment Standards, and client scope of work. Reporting of HSE functions. The HSE Coordinator will support the team or shifts to ensure that the health, safety, and environment is meet in line with the services as per scope or work.

**Key Areas of Responsibility;**
- Ensure that employees that are responsible for managing safety and health standards in the workplace are adequately trained
- Initiate and organize relevant training of employees. (e.g., first aid, SHE Rep, HIRA) and maintaining the Training Matrix
- Maintain Training Records, Update and Maintain registers
- Ensure all employees are inducted with regards to HSE
- Maintain medical surveillance register in accordance with man Job Specifications
- Prepare minutes of meeting monthly HSE meeting
- Ensure that all deviations mentioned in the meetings are rectified and corrected.
- Responsible for conducting toolbox meeting. These meetings ensure that all employees know the latest safety procedures & protocols. Will also use those meeting to identify potential workplace hazards and develop plans to review risk assessment
- Keep up to date and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation
- Compile risk assessments and safe working procedures for client approval
- Assist with approval of HSE file Documentation
- On an ongoing basis identify and evaluate the risks to which employees may be exposed, evaluate, and analyse the risks identified and ensure that these risk assessments are then communicated to the employees.
- Conduct safety inspections as directed and report deviations to Empact Group Management.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes
- Enforce preventative measures
- Inspect high-risk areas/activities and identify potential hazards
- Responsible for ensuring that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use. This includes checking that equipment is properly maintained and in good working order and that safety procedures are followed
- Responsible for responding to employee’s safety concerns and issues
- Determine ways of reducing risks
- Ensure all HSE Representatives & Supervisors conduct a monthly HSE rep inspection of their work areas
- Ensure that all employees are evaluated for their physical and psychological fitness to work at elevated heights, where applicable
- Responsible to prepare the emergency evacuation plans for all Empact Group sections
- Ensure that fire drills are done at reasonable times during the year
- Ensure Health & Safety, Environmental files are audited on monthly basis
- Use feedback reports, audit outcomes, legislative changes, and other assessment tools to continuously improve on training conducted, as well as policies and procedures, and other administrative processes
- Compile Safety files and assist all departments/sites/buildings.
- Ensure that safety files are kept up to date and relevant
- Ensure all safety signs and notices are prominently displayed where needed
- Ensure that the OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act & Mine Health & Safety Act) is displayed where needed
- Ensure hazardous substance are in line with Mine standard including MSDS’s
- Ensure the HSE Representatives, Fire Marshalls and First Aiders are in place.
- Ensure that Health and Safety sectional, Departmental, 2.9.2’s & HSE Representatives meetings are held/participated for Mine standard compliance
- Compile Risk Requirement Reports
- Prepare the MSDS file for the distributions by the 2.9.2
- Assist with Injuries on Duty and Workmen’s Compensation Claims

**The HSE Coordinator will be expected to**:

- Maintain confidentiality on all matters, documents and information relating to the organisation
- Adhere to all company standards, rules, policies & procedures
- Attend trainings and meetings as required
- Participate in performance reviews.
- Keep accurate records in relation to all aspects of work and prepare reports as required
- Have a flexible approach to work in response to business change, development, and review of best practice
- To undertake other duties as requested by the Manager or Contract Manager
