**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Legal Research**: Conduct thorough research on labor law issues, statutes, regulations, and case law to provide critical information and analysis to the labor lawyer.
- **Document Preparation**: Prepare and format legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- **Case Management**: Assist in organising and maintaining case files, monitoring deadlines, and tracking case developments to ensure timely and efficient case progress.
- **Client Interaction**: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties under the direction of the labor lawyer. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- **Court Filings**: File legal documents with the appropriate courts, agencies, or authorities and ensure that all filing requirements are met.
- **Legal Compliance**: Stay updated on changes in labor law regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements and deadlines.
- **Legal Billing**: Assist in managing billing and invoicing for clients, including tracking billable hours and expenses.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in labour law.
- Strong knowledge of labor law principles, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ethical and professional conduct, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Paralegal certification from a recognised program.
- Previous experience working in a labour law practice would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with case management software.
This is a full-time position located in their law firm office. Some overtime and occasional travel may be required.
