**Conduct detailed analysis of company history and financial statements**
- Research market to identify potential investment opportunities and make appropriate investment business decisions.
- Gather and analyse information by accessing market research, trends and statistics on which to base investment decisions.
- Attend Investor meetings and investment Analyst Society presentations in order to gather accurate investment information.
- Conduct interviews with management.
- Benchmark company performance both domestically and globally

**Maintain and update listed equity valuation model**
- Develop and maintain quantitative/analytic models, conducting a sensitive analysis.
- Provide updated valuation models and earnings after results are published, in support of accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain listed equities ranking model, monitoring that investment returns are above benchmark.

**Conduct Industry Sector Analysis**
- Analyse sector under coverage and companies positioning within industry, obtaining accurate investment information.
- Benchmark performance across the industry, domestically and globally by accessing market research, trends and statistics.
- Assess company strategy within industry and changes taking place.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with broker analyst companies and other industry specialists.
- Advise Investment team on corporate action in sectors under coverage.

**Portfolio Management**
- Maintain, improve and implement an optimal portfolio that reflects the Fund’s investment philosophy and process.
- Contribute a listed equity perspective to the economic cluster meetings.
- Optimize the portfolio to reflect bottom-up analyst views and risk return trade off, enabling a house view on economic variables.
- Achieve targeted returns.
- Provide oversight on management of the EPPF Office Park (specific to the Portfolio Manager for Listed Property).

**People Leadership**
- Manage planning of resource requirements, ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands, maintaining the effective and efficient capability of the department.
- Build a high performing team where the best people are deployed in the right roles and deliver against strategy.
- Ensure that all employees are motivated, developed.
- Manage employees’ performance and ensure that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard.
- Implement and maintain an effective system of internal controls and delegations of authority for the department, to ensure that accountability for decisions made.
- Inspires, aligns and engages employees around the vision and strategy of the Fund, maximising employee engagement and willingness to invest discretionary effort.

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS**
- In-depth knowledge of legislation governing investments
- In-depth knowledge of Tax legislation
- In-depth knowledge of financial practices and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of Industry developments

**REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE**
- Honours Degree / major in economics, business, or finance preferred
- CIPM, CFA or CA(SA) will be advantageous
- At least 8 years job-related experience, preferably with 3 years’ experience in a management role
- In-depth portfolio management experience is mandatory.
