Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager who is detail-oriented, socially focused, and possesses strong leadership and persuasive skills. In this role, you will assist the Food and Beverage Manager in leading and organizing the Food and Beverage Service Team. Your primary responsibilities will include setting and maintaining standards, continuously striving for improvement, and ensuring budget and gross profit targets are met.

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and socially focused individual with a sense of urgency to assist the Food and Beverage Manager. As the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for leading and organizing the Food and Beverage Service Team, maintaining standards, and driving continuous improvement while managing a budget and gross profit.

Minimum Experience or Qualification:

- Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a 4/5-star hotel, with at least 2 years of experience managing a food and beverage outlet.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience at the operator level of a Point of Sales System (exposure to Micros advantageous).
- Experience at the operator level of a Stock Management System (exposure to FnBShop advantageous).
- Exposure to Opera is advantageous.
- Highly presentable.
- Solid English verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in hospitality language and terminology, particularly food and beverage vocabulary.
- Exposure and understanding of restaurant financials.
- Experience with stock control, stock count, and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Experience in Service Recovery.
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

Key Performance Objectives:

- Support outlet management in the day-to-day operations by actively being present in the operation and dealing with guests during peak meal times.
- Control and manage the operating equipment store, including purchasing and issuing operating equipment to the outlets.
- Plan and execute food and beverage special events and contribute to food and beverage promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR throughout the department.
- Finalize rosters, ensuring sufficient labor is available in line with business levels while actively controlling labor costs.
- Manage operating costs in accordance with budgetary requirements.
- Coordinate training within the department.
