**Job Description**:
Function of the position: To lead the Hydropower and Dam Sector for the successful delivery of consulting engineering projects and to ensure sustainable business growth.Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be a fully capable professional in their field. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences. Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually result from progressive experience. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.Main duties:Business Management:P&L management of Dams and Hydropower SectorForecasting of revenue and expenditureBudget planningManagement of project invoicingManagement of accounts receivableStrategic PlanningTeam Management:Responsible to manage and lead the Hydropower and Dams teamPersonnel performance managementDevelop and ensure good team morale and spiritUtilization forecasting and team managementPersonnel skill assessment and developmentProject Management:Successful completion of projectsQuality management according to the company proceduresMentoring and guidance of project managers in a project director roleBusiness development:Engagement of potential and existing clients on future projectsBusiness Opportunity managementOpportunity risk assessmentProposal managementSourcing of partners for opportunitiesBid cost estimationEngineering:Hydropower and Dam Engineering leadMentoring of project teamApproval and sign-off of designsReview of design/study reports

**Qualifications**:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:At least 15 years’ experience in hydropower/dams and general water engineeringFluent in English (Ability to speak/write French will be an added benefit)Management experience of teams of 10 people or moreProject management experience of projects with a revenue of R 30 Million or more PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor in Civil/Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree will be preferred)Professionally Registered
