**Purpose of the position**:
The role of the Data Monitor is to support VMMC in 5 regions and to ensure a consistent flow of accurate VMMC data from a key population based in correctional services centres. The role is responsible for coordinating data collection (source data), reporting, data quality interventions and verification and ensure it is reported timeously to TB HIV Care, the funder and DOH counterparts in supported regions for VMMC. They will support data collection, verification and submission of correctional centres which they support, whilst maintaining the principles of the THC M&E framework, and the M&E policies and procedures for the DCS and DoH.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Degree/Diploma in health/ public health/ social sciences or another relevant field
- Certificate in database management
- DHIS or TIER.Net data management computer programme certificate
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in monitoring & evaluation, data management, maintaining and/or updating databases; data verification / quality assurance experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ data analysis experience
- 2 years’ experience with HIV, AIDS and STI programme data
- Net, DHIS and information management background
- Proficiency in English and any other African language
- Valid code 08 driver’s licence
- Criminal Clear

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage a database (electronic) on all VMMC data (hard copy source documents) for each correctional centre which supports VMMC in all supported regions.
- Manage a database on VMMC (source documents) for selected correctional centres (including adverse events / follow up etc)
- Compiles routine data reports on all VMMC indicators.
- Report all funder indicators timeously (weekly/ monthly / quarterly/ annually) to the M&E specialist and the funder.
- Prepare all ad hoc requests for service provider performance against target as well as invoicing purposes
- Coordinates the implementation of new reporting tools and provide training at the correctional centres on data innovations
- Responsible for optimising the recording of VMMC data tools in each correctional centre
- Provides mentorship to DCS data staff on data flow requirements to ensure all captured and reported data is of high quality through the use of verified data quality audit tools.
- Build relationships with NDoH staff at sub-district level to ensure that the data is reporting into DHIS.
- Assist the other data monitors in ensuring that quarterly data are retrieved and reported to sub-districts
