This private, high-end corporate guest house is seeking to appoint a Housekeeping Assistant Manager for an 8-week period on a fixed-term contract to start as soon as possible.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
To ensure that all interior areas of the property are cleaned, serviced and maintained to the highest possible standards, at all times.
To liaise closely with the Housekeeper pertaining to equipment in bedrooms and public rooms not functioning to optimum standards at all times.
Basic knowledge of various fabrics; their cleaning requirements and care.
To ensure that guests’ special requirements are met, i.e. special blankets, down pillows, extra blankets, etc.
Ensure that any maintenance issues, e.g. light bulbs, loose handles, dripping taps or runny toilets, are reported to the Housekeeper as soon as possible.
Any room damages are reported to the Housekeeper or Deputy Manager immediately.
Ensure correct cleaning materials are used for the correct jobs - always check and confirm with the Housekeeper when in doubt.
Keep housekeeping areas clean at all times
Ensure that housekeeping equipment is cleaned and stored correctly
Ensure that washing machines and dryers are clean and in good working order. Report faults immediately to the Housekeeper.
Ensure that all broken and chipped crockery and glassware is reported to the Housekeeper and recorded on the stock sheets.
Ensure a high standard of the appearance and cleanliness of all responsible areas.
Control the use of cleaning materials so as not to waste.
Handle all operating equipment, ornaments, furniture and decorative pieces with care.
Working and assisting in the laundry i.e., ironing, folding and washing linen and guest garments as per management instruction.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Open to South African citizens only
- Matric or Grade 12 qualification preferable
- A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/assistant housekeeping managerial role within a high-end 4/5* guest house, lodge or boutique hotel
- Must reside within the Helderberg basin
- Own reliable transport
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
- Be well groomed and take pride in your appearance
- Mature and professional approach
- Punctual and reliable
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Eye for detail
- Able to work under pressure, hands-on and supportive management style
- Be fit, mobile and healthy due to the physical demands of the position
