Estate Manager

Prestigious function and conference venue based in Century City, has an opportunity for an Estate Manager to join their dynamic team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Regular and reliable communications and co-operation with the owner
- Public relations with guests staying - liaising by phone and on online accommodation platforms as required **/** Attend to all administration. Residents : attend to residents
- requests and complaints. Present monthly reports to management and trustees.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to detect and resolve problems.
- Planning, scheduling and performing general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment and machinery including electric security fencing & gates, irrigation, potable water reticulation, water allocation usage, roads and paths, fire breaks, water heating, toilets, septic and drainage, incidental maintenance and development such as concreting, brickwork, plaster, roofing and timber works
- Ensuring that the homestead, grounds and sheds are kept clean, tidy and organised
- Maintain inventory and condition of equipment, materials and machinery and ensure replacements and supplies are ordered and restocked and regular servicing occurs timeously
- Overseeing safety of resident occupants and visitors, staff and buildings and infrastructure including fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment / Ensure all employees and service providers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Liaising and overseeing building, plumbing, electrical and other service providers called in on an ad hoc basis to deal for projects or maintenance issues beyond the abilities of the incumbent manager and other workers
- Preparing regular operational reports, budgets and financial reports **/** Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance. Maintain all machinery to ensure IT is at working standards.
- Create and implement maintenance procedures.
- Ensure that Municipal by-laws, statutory regulations and estate rules are adhered to and that all developments or improvements on the estate enhance value and comply with the relevant regulations.
**Requirements**:
- Sufficient farm or estate management experience to fulfil the duties & responsibilities above
- Strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English and Afrikaans and friendly and approachable manner /
- A strong personality coupled with tenacity and resilience.
- Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, the ability to work well independently and good leadership to motivate the team
- Good planning skills and the ability to manage projects independently including problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Valid driver’s license
