**Laboratory Intern**

**Duration: One **Year** **Contract**

**Responsibilities**: will include** and not limited to**:sample quality control, nucleic acid isolation, sequencing library preparation and administrative tasks related to the core functions of the facility.

**Core Requirements**:

- BSc or BTech In Molecular Biology, Genetics or similar qualification or higher
- 1 -2 years’ knowledge/experience in Molecular Biology or Genetics
- 1 -2 years’ knowledge/experience with basic molecular biology techniques e.g. RNA, DNA isolation, PCR and Gel Electrophoresis
- Knowledge of good laboratory practice (GLP)

**Advantageous**:

- Knowledge/experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) laboratory workflows
- Knowledge/experience with sample management
- Experience with DNA and RNA quality control
- Not studying full-time/ classes must be after normal working hours.
- No formal work experience within the Molecular Biology/Genetics field.

A stipend will be offered.
