**Job description**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Providing legal advice to the business ensuring compliance adhered to within day-to-day processes and business activities (i.e. opinions, memos, ad hoc advice e.t.c )
- Drafting, vetting and reviewing of agreements on the contract management system Drafting of legal opinions Assisting Legal Head with complaints and enquiries from the regulatory authorities as well coordination of the gathering of relevant information in order to assist in the preparation of the aforesaid responses
- Assisting the Legal Head in respect of gathering and collation of comments to new and existing legislation
- Assisting the Legal Head in the drafting of various internal legal reports
- Distilling new legislative requirements (e.g. COFI Bill, Omni-CBR) and effectively and practically translating the impact of these requirements on business operations, processes and practices
- Maintaining and manage positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Implementing legal requirements through internal check-lists relating to the controls for legal risks
- Assisting with the gathering and compilation of information required relating to any regulatory inspections or visits
- Assisting with review of internal policies, e.g. FAIS and Prudential Standards e.t.c
- Providing business with general ad hoc support as and when required
- Responsible for project management in respect of new projects such as implementation of new legislation into new and existing agreements and template agreements, assistance to business in respect of the implementation of such new legislation into the various business areas

**Minimum requirements**:

- LLB Degree plus segment specific (financial services) qualification (e.g. CFP) advantageous
- Admitted attorney with 3 - 5 years post article experience
- At least 2 - 4 years financial services industry experience
