Kendrick Recruitment are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Front Desk Agent with experience in using Opera to join our prestigious 5-star hotel located in Cape Town. The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring their stay is memorable. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage hotel operations using Opera.

Key Responsibilities:

- Welcoming guests with a warm and friendly demeanour, providing a high level of customer service.
- Checking-in and checking-out guests using Opera Property Management System, accurately processing payments and handling guest requests.
- Managing room reservations, ensuring accurate data entry and room assignments in Opera.
- Responding to guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Providing information about hotel facilities, services and local attractions to guests.
- Coordinating with other hotel departments such as Housekeeping and Maintenance, to fulfil guest requests and ensure smooth operations.
- Managing and reconciling cash and credit card transactions, maintaining accurate records.
- Maintaining a clean and organized front desk area, including monitoring and restocking supplies.
- Keeping up-to-date with hotel promotions, events and special offers to effectively communicate to guests.
- Providing exceptional service to VIP guests and managing special requests or accommodations.
- Upholding hotel policies and procedure, including security protocols and ensuring guest confidentiality.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Receptionist in a 5-star hotel is required.
- Proficiency in using Opera Property Management System is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, including reservations, check-in/check/out procedures and guest services.
- Professional and polished appearance, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Cash handling experience and basic math skills for processing payments.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, with excellent problem solving skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays as per hotel requirements.
- Knowledge of local attractions, events and services in Cape Town.
