We are looking for a Cost Controller

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Forecasting and Planning**:

- Forecast demand by supplier and submit monthly import forecasts.
- Ensure all monthly import submissions take place to the relevant government institutions.
- Develop and implement effective forecasting and planning strategies.
- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Lead and supervise a team of Buyers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- **Authorization of Purchase Orders (POs) and Master Data approval**:

- Review and authorize Purchase Orders prepared by Buyers to ensure compliance with pricing and budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy in quantity, quality, pricing details, logistics, and vendor information on POs.
- Master data management: loading, updating and approval of item codes
- **Costing and Pricing**:

- Conduct a thorough analysis of market trends, pricing structures, and supplier terms to optimize procurement costs.
- Oversee both import and domestic costings, ensuring accurate assessment of all associated costs.
- Manage price lists and margin management to enhance profitability, and engage with Category Specialists and Sales to ensure strategic positioning of pricing.
- **Order Management**:

- Efficiently oversee all inventory purchasing, managing POs (price, quantity, dates, times, logistics, vendor, item).
- Implement and oversee the PO approval process.
- **Import and Domestic Logistics**:

- Verify and sign off import and domestic landed costings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage clearing agent relationships and processes.
- **Supplier Liaison**:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and resolve any issues.
- **Journal Approvals**:

- Oversee and approve journals related to procurement and cost control.
- **Management Reporting**:

- Generate monthly management reports:

- Inventory Valuation Report as per GL by Item Class
- Inventory Days Ratio by Item Class
- Analyze reasons for inventory discrepancies and implement preventative measures.

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in food procurement, costing, and pricing strategies, with a focus on imports.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data for decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance within the food and import industry.

**Salary**: R20 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
