**Senior Brand Manager - Essential Health**
This position reports into the **Head of Essential Health & Skin Health **and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.

**What will you do**
**Purpose for the role**:
The **Senior Brand Manager** will lead the team and need State strategy of the given portfolio of brands
**Responsibilities and the impact YOU will have**:
- Develop and improve the Need State Strategic Plan and growth model including 3-year operating. This will span innovation pipeline, commercial innovation, consumer insights learning plan, and brand IMCs.
- Support and coach brand managers and junior brand managers reporting into the role, ensuring all members have a deep understanding and alignment to key operating priorities and deliverables, external landscape and market needs
- Support, develop, and manage portfolio financials, P&L performance, product forecasting, and budgets to ensure plans can be executed and financial targets delivered
- Partner with cross-functional team to validate opportunities, build & reinforce the business case, and support execution through governance and launch planning.
- Identify and transfer success models, findings and best practices from lead markets to South Africa and from South Africa to key export markets
- Partner with CBI, Finance and Local markets to understand business drivers, and recommend adaptions to the business plan and/or strategic plan, ultimately enabling achievement of growth targets
- Proactively identify emerging trends, develop deep understanding of category and professional landscape to help shape future direction and define strategy to execution based on insights
- Build thorough understanding of the competitive landscape per market and the performance levers within each market.
- Implementation of marketing mixes that are consistent with overall strategies.
**Qualifications**:
**What we are looking for**
- Matric plus a relevant marketing or business degree or diploma.
- 7 years brand management experience with consistent track record in brand strategy and marketing mix development and implementation in Consumer Goods industry at a multi-national company. Healthcare / pharma experience is helpful.
- Demonstrates business & Financial Acumen in making business decisions including expertise in managing portfolio P&L and its components, leads management of marketing investment budget, ensuring efficiency in spending and ROI
- Demonstrated history of setting a vision rooted in consumer understanding and executing in a similar coordinated brand leadership role within a multi-national CPG organization
- Experience providing marketing thought leadership—taking consumer insight to drive decisions and utilize different business models
- Experience leading & building relationships in a cross-functional team, in a matrixed environment. Proven strong interpersonal & influencing skills
- Demonstrated track record of self-and-people development
- This role requires mínimal travel to priority Sub-Sahara Africa markets
- Able to think strategically.
- Ability to take initiative and to be proactive (self-starter).
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to collaborate and build productive working relationships.
- Tenacity to see things though and to deliver the long-term vision.
- Leadership ability and potential (role will grow as SSA business grows).
**Preferred**:
- Experience in broader Self-Care, whether that be OTC, Health Foods, VMS or devices.
- Experience in Sales, Shopper Marketing, Category Management or other Commercial role
