**Our Client, a National Group Leader in the Manufacturing industry, has an “Open to all” South African Citizens opportunity for a suitably qualified Heavy Engineering and highly competent Technical Trainer for their Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands Operation. (R 450K plus Benefits pa).**
**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:
**Report directly into the Factory Manager**
**Guide and advise Front Line management (FLM) on appropriate approaches to close technical skills gaps**
**Partner with Front Line management in Technical operational areas to identify competency gaps**
**Facilitate the conducting of root-cause analysis, as part of technical problem solving.**
**MINIMUM COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT**:
**N6 Engineering Diploma or Production Management National Diploma ESSENTIAL.**
**Assessor and Learning Facilitation Competence Certificates will be an added advantage.**
**3 to 5 years’ experience as an FLM in Production or (Heavy Industrial) Maintenance**
**Computer Literacy**
**Solid Business Acumen with passion for development**
**Ability to communicate effectively and assertively and work in a team**
**Analytical, problem solving, Influencing, negotiating, planning and organizational skills**
**Must have a valid driver’s license**
**Experience in heavy machinery is ESSENTIAL.**
**Experience in maintenance and commissioning of turbines and associated high speed equipment would be an advantage.**
**PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**Prepares, conducts, and evaluates technical training programs.**
**Writes on-the-job learning materials and assessments to be used in conducting on-the-job training.**
**Conducts a learning needs analysis for technical operations at the Mills.**
**Develops on the job training programmes.**
**Conducts on the job training using a variety of methods.**
**Conducts pre and post training assessments and supplies feedback.**
**Participates in factory production meetings.**
**Participate in skills development committees.**
**Identifies competence gaps during problem solving meetings as part of root cause analysis.**
**Update TOPS charts and ensures that they are visually displayed.**
**Conduct TOPS follow-up training sessions.**
**Writes technical training modules and contributes to the development of work instructions.**
**Ensure that all technical training records are maintained.**
**Must produce and submit technical training progress reports to line management.**
**Will be responsible for conducting formal upskilling programs (e.g. Artisan Development Program).**
**To facilitate and manages process trainee, learnerships and apprenticeship programs.**
**Coordinates SHERQ legal /mandatory training required for specific licenses or certification.**
**Oversees on-site activities of external training providers to ensure compliance to site specific**
**SHERQ policy and procedures.**
**Provides input into annual L&D budgets.**
**Provides on-site coordination of training venue bookings, manage training stationery and housekeeping.**
**Promote and adhere to the Company procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).**
