Production Supervisor in a Maize Milling Factory

AGRO AF Ltd is a maize milling company. The core business is procurement of raw maize, processing the maize into high-quality flour, and sales of flour to regional customers. Our factory is located at Boma Ng’ombe, Kilimanjaro - Tanzania). We have an automated processing plant (SP-1 model from ROFF Industries) for maize milling.

We are looking for a production supervisor (with an experience of operating ROFF’s mills) that will manage production workers on assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality, and cost standards. The supervisor will train, direct, and lead the production team in the day-to-day operations to meet production, safety, and quality requirements. We expect the person to be flexible in working hours and drive communication of production goals and objectives, as well as results to effectively motivate the team to maintain a high standard of product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies. The supervisor also directs the routine maintenance and set up of machines, equipment, and facilities.

**Key responsibilities**
- Operate and monitor production line to ensure efficiency
- Supervise, manage, and control the production team
- Ensure package and product quality
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely
- Clean equipment and area before, during, and after shift
- Maintain clean work area through good housekeeping practices
- Expedite repairs to line, working with maintenance as necessary
- Keep daily records of down time and machine operations
- Work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere
- Perform any other tasks instructed by the management and be flexible in working hours

**Skills and experience required**
- Maize flour production and storage experience would be valuable
- Supervision experience in an organization
- Computer literacy (especially MF Office)
- Good command of both Swahili and English
- Technical background
