**Data Warehouse Administrator position Position**: Fixed Term Contractor for 6 months. Contract to be reviewed again after 6 months. Possible permanent position in the future.

**Requirements**:
At least Three years or more experience performing data warehouse architectural development and management ;
being the responsible person (not just an assistant) for the Data Warehouse of
a medium to large size organization with a Data Warehouse where there were
integration with at least five other source systems
built on Ralph Kimball Star-schema best practice methodology.
Strong SQL skills
Excellent problem solver (ability to think logical and systematically).
Honest
Excellent communication skills Ability to focus on the required outcomes and to translate that into task lists, whilst keeping sight of the result.
High EQ Excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize on the fly Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
Able to reconcile sets of data (in order to find issues) and not to settle for approximate accuracy.
Not to let pressure from clients to finish allow for compromise on quality. If something takes longer than expected because of unexpected data issues that surfaced, then the clients expectation needs to be managed, not the quality compromised. The issue can be escalated to a senior to assist with managing the clients expectation so we as a Team will still succeed.
Able to work well in a A self-starter Ability to focus well.
Excellent experience with technologies including
Oracle database and
SQL Server (including SSIS),
as well as some exposure to newer ones like Mongo DB and stored procedures
Working experience with reporting and analytical tools (i.e. Cognos, Tableau, SportFire, TIBCO, QlikView, MicroStrategy, Information Builders) advantageous.
Working knowledge of SAS and R code used in data processing and modelling tasks advantageous
Experience with DataManager/ DataStage, SSIS advantageous
Other Requirements

Able to work on site in Randfontein
Need to be able to pass a medical fitness examination

Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked
Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis
Provide technical support as and when required and where user support needs overlaps with front-end models/reports, to co-ordination with Team members during warehouse design, testing and moving to Prod
Daily monitoring of schedules and required updates and to pro-actively address any issues/concerns
Change Advisory Board documentation logging for new changes and following Company policies and procedures as it applies, including POPI Act requirements.
Attend and or arrange relevant meetings in order to achieve desired business and/technical outcomes.
Pro-active approach in data management (sanity checking of data and address/alert the Team of any potential new issues).
Escalate performance issues to the relevant parties pro-actively and arrange for the necessary communication to users if for some reason a report becomes problematic on a specific day.
