Senior Claims Handler: Uninsured Liabilities

CAREER OPPORTUNITY- Santam Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a SENIOR CLAIMS HANDLER who will be based in BELLVILLE, CAPE TOWN.**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- This position requires the skills of a dynamic individual who has experience in Short Term Insurance, specifically in a Legal, Claims environment, as well as competency in general policy knowledge.-
- In addition to managing their own portfolio, the Senior Claims Handler will be required to take on additional responsibilities which will include, handling higher quantum and complex matters, driving housekeeping measures, process compliance, governance, and handling escalations.- The following accountabilities are applicable:

- Liaising with clients and third parties.
- Conducting detailed investigation on the merits and quantum to establish negligence.
- Attending to escalations from clients and third parties.
- Liaise with brokers, administrators, underwriting and other relevant parties to the claims process, building a strong and effective, professional relationship.
- Provide exception client experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Matric
- Relevant Law or Commerce Degree/ in progress
- 5+ years short-term insurance experience

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Comprehensive short-term procedural and practice knowledge (especially related to Motor Vehicle Accidents)
- Comprehensive policy knowledge
- Comprehensive applicable legislative knowledge as well as the law of evidence and principles in law (e.g., law of apportionment of damages)
- Technical knowledge of the Santam processes.
