Claims Handler

**Required knowledge and skills**:

- Experience in Claims Management is desirable.
- Customer focussed.
- Understanding of policy cover.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To carry out and complete the ‘First Notification of Loss’ (“FNOL”) following contact from the customer to register the claim.
- To follow a validation process of new claims which will involve checking the policy against a claims bordereau, the dates of the policy, identifying the relevant insurer, checking policy wordings.
- To keep and manage up to date claims files by saving relevant documents and communications to the appropriate file.
- To assess each claim against policy terms and conditions and to request payment of the claim where appropriate.
- To liaise with the customer and keep them updated regarding the progress of their claim and the outcome of the claim whether it be declined or accepted.
- To effectively manage claims in accordance with Service Level Agreements (“SLA”)
- To identify potential issues of complaint and to escalate to the Claims Specialist/Senior Claims Handler in the first instance.
**Salary**: From R5,000.00 per month
