Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking **an experienced HR Generalist, ideally with a background in the Hotel or Retail industry, to join one of our esteemed clients.**
As the HR Generalist for Hospitality & Retail, you will play a crucial role in the efficient functioning of the HR department, contributing to payroll duties, HR administration, and fostering positive employee relations.

**Payroll Duties**:

- Assist the payroll administrator with loading new starters on payspace and ERS clocking system.
- Administer onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain and update employee credentials on payspace.
- Conduct mock payslips for new starters.
- Handle leave administration and administrative filing.
- Track and record payroll issues.
- Consolidate timesheets and ERS hours for processing.
- Communicate payroll deadlines to managers.
- Assist with leaver administration, including UI19s, Certificates of Service, etc.

**HR Duties**:

- Answer and forward calls within the HR Office.
- Provide advice to management on matters involving conflicts between employees.
- Perform general administrative duties for the HR Office, including updating employee files.
- Ensure staff awareness of IR and ER protocols and regulations.
- Work with the People Manager on disciplinary actions, including document preparation, investigation, drafting charges, and attendance at hearings.
- Provide advice and guidance to support managers on employee relations matters.
- Vet job applicants by conducting relevant checks.
- Draft Letters of Appointments and employment contracts.
- Assist in monitoring and implementing HR projects.

**Experience Requirements**:

- 1-3 years of extensive experience in HR, preferably with a focus on IR.
- Experience with payroll administration is advantageous.
- Strong experience in IR, including drafting charges and resolving grievances.
- Understanding of the BCEA, LRA, OHS, EE, SDL, and POPI acts.
- Knowledge of regulations and compliance in Human Resources and South African law.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, Afrikaans, and Xhosa/Zulu.
- Keen attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow-through capabilities.
- Results-driven with strong communication skills; proficient in presenting information to others.
- Creative and innovative thinker, capable of leading programs to exceed expectations through attention to detail.

**Education Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Relevant qualification in Labour Relations, HR, or Industrial Psychology.
