IT Technician at JABU Technologies

JABU Technologies, a tech-driven logistics company based in Johannesburg, is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to join our team. As an IT Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations by maintaining and troubleshooting our IT infrastructure. Your expertise and technical knowledge will ensure the smooth functioning of our systems and provide timely assistance to our staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Technical Support**: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems promptly to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.

**System Maintenance**: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, system backups, and security checks, to maintain the integrity and reliability of our IT infrastructure.

**Network Management**: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, and other network components. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure smooth data flow within the organization.

**IT Asset Management**: Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment, including computers, servers, printers, and peripherals. Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for asset tracking, warranty management, and equipment disposal.

**IT Security**: Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems. Monitor for potential security breaches, viruses, and unauthorized access.

Collaborate with the IT team to address security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

**Continuous Improvement**: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT support. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and user experience.

**Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**: CompTIA A+, N+, or a diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and proven work experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role are advantageous.

**Technical Skills**: Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network configuration, operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office). Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices is desirable.

**Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users. Ability to provide exceptional customer service and support with a customer-centric approach.

**Problem-Solving Abilities**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to efficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues. Capacity to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

**Attention to Detail**: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in system setups, configurations, and documentation.

**Adaptability**: Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and business needs. Willingness to learn new tools, software, and procedures as required.

**Team Player**: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing assistance and sharing knowledge with colleagues. Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

**Time Management**: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
