The Big Picture:

Howden MEA Projects Division is looking for an experienced Projects Expeditor responsible for monitoring the flow of work from supply procurement to product deliveries. This role will be improving the efficiency of supply delivery, ensuring communication between departments, maintaining production schedules and record project performance.

What needs to be done?
- Print and go through production schedules and project schedules to identify orders placed against jobs/projects and ensure that delivery takes place within the required project contractual time framework.
- Update production/procurement schedules to indicate completed orders thereby ensuring that completed orders are no longer tracked.
- Issue RFQ’s and obtain supplier quotes against project bills of material, when required.
- Conduct supplier progress assessments in order to identify problematic and good suppliers and initiate a corrective action process when necessary.
- Attend to production queries by identifying causes of procurement problems, in order to give feedback and recommend appropriate solutions and ensure that problems are resolved and do not escalate.
- Adhere to Howden environmental, health and safety standards to ensure that the company comply with relevant legislation and quality assurance management systems.
- Conduct suppliers’ audits on regular basis with QA
- Review and submit VO’s from supplier’s for approval by project team.
- Process AX orders with suppliers who meet the set criteria to ensure that orders are delivered on time and according to set standards.
- Receiving Forwarder’s Invoice, Issuing PO and submitting to Finance for payment release based on agreed payment term.
- SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

What do you need to bring?
- Engineering/ Technical qualification
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a purchasing and project management environment
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of logistics procedures.
- Expediting in a manufacturing environment
- Expediting in a projects environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
