Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for purchasing of material, equipment and services to meet internal and external stakeholders’ requirements timeously.- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement- Liaise with suppliers to contain costs and enhance service levels- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to enhance lead time and improve service levels, management of supplier order book. Weekly meetings with suppliers- Order placement and confirmations- Continues improvement actions to ensure OTD improvement- Executing and driving down MRP exception messages- Slotting room management- System update audit and Supplier audits- Stock level management and prevention of stock outs.- Overdue management- Support expeditors with day to day activities were needed- Explore alternative sources for supply for goods and materials- Meet suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoicing issues- Adherence of all SHE and housekeeping requirements.- Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Matric. / Grade 12 certificate- Degree in Purchasing management- Computer literate (MS Office), Advance Excel- ERP System- 5 - 7 years related experience in an Engineering manufacturing environment- Project Management experience- Understanding of metals (Foundry, Machining, Tooling)- The Bill of Materials (BOM) and the impact on order creation.- Intermediate to advance knowledge of Inco Terms- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers-
- Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels-
- Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills-
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities-
